CL Chart.
So someone on my board posted this and i wanted to make sure i wouldn't loose it so I thought I would put it here ;) You have to click on it to see it bigger, but as you can see I should be a little longer that what I have been measuring, but it's still a good measurement :)

Information Found, I think
So neither of us can remember what the doc called the spot in the brain. But from the research I did there is only one term for it Choroid Plexus Cysts.
Grumble.
Which look something like this:
See the spot in the lower half of the brain?
Okay so what is says is that if this is the only "marker" than the baby is more than likely fine, but if they find other markers, like kidney or heart problems, overlapping fingers, abnormal feet, or a strawberry shaped head then the babe could have Edwards Syndrome. Which I'm not even going to comment on...since it would mean a very low chance of survival even in utero, I'm going to think about that until I have a reason to.
Okay so this is assuming I have the right term, but I can't find a different one anywhere to explain the cyst, or spot or anything. This is the only one that pops up. The site does go on to say that most hospitals don't even report it without other evidence of issues because it usually means nothing. The baby will grow out of it more than likely before they are even born, most of them disappear before they even get to 24 weeks gestation.
However this is the kicker for the evening...1% - 2% of babies are known to have this issue. I am SO TIRED of hitting these tiny itty bitty percentages...

18 Weeks Preggers
Size = 5 1/2 inches
Weight = 5-7 oz
- The skeleton can be clearly outlined in the ultrasound of the fetus
- Ears stand out from the head
- Lanugo (soft, fine hair) covers the entire body
- Pads (the fatty, soft parts) are forming on the fingertips and toes
- The eyes are looking forward rather than out the sides of the head
- If your baby is a boy, his prostate gland is beginning to develop
- Your baby's bones begin to harden, or ossify -- keep up that calcium!
- Your baby's taste buds are beginning to develop, allowing them to distinguish sweet from bitter.

Detailed Ultrasound
So we had a detailed ultrasound done today. They think it's a girl for the second time so I'm thinking we can count on it being a girl! We even have a name: Emilie. Don't know the middle name yet. We are looking at M middle names, but like always it's not on the birth certificate yet so no promises that it stays Emilie :) But for now we both really like it.
Everything looks good except (of course there is always an except it seems with us) there is a spot on the babes brain :\ The doc said nothing to worry about that in majority of the cases it's completely normal and nothing to worry about. However in some cases the spot might get bigger or cause cerebral palsy...now if we go based on our odds that we had with Kaitlin I'm thinking we are going to end up in the NON normal part of this :\ So I will post more about the spot when I can research it further.
I also have ultrasound pics that will have to wait until tomorrow.
Other than that there are 10 fingers and 10 toes and all else seems normal. My cervix measured 4.5 which means it grew, but in terms of that...if the baby wasn't putting pressure on it thats why it might have measured so long and really you can just say it's a good 3.9ish...so in short it didn't shrink :)
This also was my last appointment with my normal doc :\ I see her uncle now until she comes back.
Alright off to bed with me, it's been a LONG day.

Online Prediction
This one is one of those question and answer things, but this is what it said:
The day you deliver, outside will be fair. Your baby will arrive in the late night. After a labor lasting approximately 6 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and will be 21 -1/2 inches long. This child will have light hazel eyes and barely there brown hair.
Check it out yourself!

Baby Blanket Finished.
This is actually the second blanket I've made new for the nursery. The first one is done in the same colors it's just wavy lines. I was making it when I got pregnant, lol. This one I just started about a week and 1/2 ago. My first attempt at granny squares. Nybbles won't let me photograph anything on the floor without her in it, seriously! I don't place her there...she comes a running when she hears the camera come out! She loves the camera I guess :\
Another ultrasound in 3 days! :) Lets hope the babe cooperates for another looksie at their private parts ;)

More on 17 weeks Preggers
Sometime between week 17 and week 20 of pregnancy, your baby's hearing develops. This means that he or she can hear sounds, both inside and outside of your body.
During this week your baby will start to produce "brown fat," which has been shown to help heat production and metabolism later in life. Other changes that are occurring in your baby around 17 weeks of pregnancy include the following:
- White fatty material, called myelin, begins to enclose the nerve fibers of the spinal cord.
- Lanugo (a soft, fine hair) covers your baby's shoulders, back, and temples.
- Your baby's lungs are beginning to "breathe" the amniotic fluid (although the placenta will still supply the necessary oxygen until he or she is born).
- The circulatory and urinary systems are working.
- The reflexes are quickly developing. These reflexes will allow your baby to swallow, suck, and blink.

17 Weeks Preggers
Size = 5 in
Weight: 4 oz
Baby's adding fat stores that will keep him warm and cozy after he's born. Your baby's weight will increase approximately six times over the next four weeks.
Your baby is hard at work honing his sucking and swallowing reflexes. The finger- and toenails are beginning to grow from their nail beds, which would explain why he'll need them trimmed almost as soon as he's born!
Your baby weighs nearly 5 ounces and is a little over 5 inches long—about the size of a baked potato.

New Baby Things :)
I was going NUTS in the apartment last night so I dragged Jason and Tom around to a bunch of baby departments :) I didn't buy alot things since we don't need much at this point. But I found a sleeper that matches my nursery theme :) So I had to get it. I also got another 3 piece set and a mommy and me nightgown :)
On a side note: Terrabyte ate an olive today! How weird are our cats?

Food Aversions :\ & Cravings
So I don't get nauseous instead I try to take a bite of food and then I can't swallow it... :\ I then need to find a whole new thing to eat :\ I think in the morning it hits me the worst since two days running I haven't been able to eat what I set out for myself...but the one food we've tried twice now for dinner that just is a no go, SPAGHETTI :\
Then on the flip side, I have super cravings and if I don't eat THAT for dinner I tend to not be able to eat any other food. I also have other cravings that I don't need right off, but I love it when I do get to eat them :) My recent one, Mcdonald's Milkshakes, especially vanilla! In the past and probably again in my future, olives, mixed veggies, and pineapple.

16 Weeks Preggo!
Size = 4-5 inches
Weight = 3 oz
Lol I thought this was funny " No, you don't have a new superpower, although it'll feel like it because you're able to smell pizza, burnt toast or a pulled-pork sandwich from miles away."
Your baby is already mugging for the camera as she practices all sorts of facial expressions, such as squinting, yawning and grimacing, which will come in handy when you introduce her to pureed spinach.
If your baby is a girl, her uterus is fully developed and the ovaries already hold primitive egg cells.
Your baby's skin is still translucent and wrinkly, not unlike an old man's, but more fat will soon accumulate under the dermas to plump her out. If you could peer inside right now, you'd be able to see all of her veins under her skin. And speaking of veins, your baby's heart now pumps about 25 quarts of blood per day! Also, her eyes are now locked and loaded at their final destination, facing forward rather than to the sides.

Kicks?
I *think* I've felt the baby move before now, but today I'm about 99% sure I felt a few kicks. It was when my bladder was kind of full, so I think the pushing against my uterus might have helped me feel it...hopefully I will get to feel something as this progresses, but with the placenta where it is it might be tricky. However I take this as a good sign I will :) Yay!
(This picture always reminds me of the days before Kaitlin was born she had a habit of wedging her feet under my ribish area. Jason used to massage her feet when she did it)

16 week Ultrasound
Okay not QUITE 16 weeks, but close enough :)
Here's a pic!
Here's a pic!
The little guy wouldn't move for a profile shot :) This wasn't my detailed one so they didn't spend much time fussing to get the perfect shot, lol.
Cervix is measuring 3.9 - 4.0
They said my fluid levels are good.
The baby's heart rate was 151.
And the placenta is high and away from my cervix.
They also took a guess at the gender ;) We THINK we saw what it is, but the baby wasn't being totally cooperative, nor is it a definite at this point since I'm early still BUT they think it might be a girl :)

Kaitlin Turned One
Today at 10:04 am Kaitlin turned one. You can see what we are planning for the next two weeks on her blog. A purple candle was lit in her memory and candles will remain burning until the 21st.

15 Weeks Preggo
Size: 4 in
Weight: 2 oz
Although many women don't start feeling the baby move until the 17th week (or later), your baby has been having his own party in the amniotic sac he calls home. If you feel a little flutter in your belly this week, don't discount it as gas or hunger. It could be your babe banging around.
Baby's head is now resting on his well-formed neck instead of directly on his shoulders like Igor. He's beginning to grow eyebrows and eyelashes this week. The hair on the head also begins to grow.
Although baby's eyes are sealed shut, he's now able to sense light. His eyes and ears finally look like real baby features now. As your baby practices sucking and swallowing actions, he may actually hiccup.
Over the next month, baby will grow faster than ever, so make sure you load up on enough nutritious food and fluids to support his growth. Your baby now measures nearly 4 inches, about the size of a Kit Kat "finger" (regular-size, not the Big one you get at the movies), and weighs almost 2 ounces.

Pick a Name
So I copied Cristina's blog. I did this last time too, but only with the spelling of Kaitlin. Ofcourse you know that Jason and I will probably pick whatever we feel is our name in the end, but it's fun to pick isn't it? So let us know what your favorite pick is.
(Polls are along the right hand side of the blog)

What sex is the baby?
Well I just haven't posted...but the last time Bekah was here Zach predicted I was going to have a "boy baby".
Mom also told me that she had a dream a few nights ago about us having a boy.
Signs: I call this one a he ALL the time, but don't remember if I called Kaitlin a she or not.
We also I think have found a good boys name first, unlike last time it was harder to find the boys name.
I guess we'll see.
Here are a few other things to help guess:
It's a girl if...
According to the Chinese Gender Chart I used last time it will be a girl.
Oh and I was a sucker and while we TTC I paid a person online for a prediction this is what she said: Thanks tiffanie for being patient with me while I got back to your reading. As mentioned they are showing me a girl and they relate her to JUNE so this is either birth month, conceive month or the month you find out in.
So I guess we'll see...hopefully next week but at the end of the month at the latest ;)

Here are a few other things to help guess:
I bolded the true statements:

- Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute

- Your nose is spreading
- You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves in circles
- You are having headaches
- You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number
It's a girl if...

Appointment
The appointment went well. The doc tried to get the baby's heartbeat on the doppler and was having trouble so she wheeled in the ultrasound machine. Which scared us for a minute, but I have a anterior placenta which causes issues getting a good read with the doppler :) Doesn't mean anything bad, just they have to get through the placenta to hear the baby.
Baby's heartbeat was around 140. Everything looked good. And i'm loosing weight again, lol. Being pregnant suits me apparently. I EAT! I just eat healither when I know i'm carrying so the weight melts off me. I have an ultrasound next week and I'm still on modified bedrest.
