Since I've posted about here once I know some of you are curious as to how she keeps doing. She's doing great!! She now weighs 3lbs 4oz. They expect her to weigh in around 5lbs when she reaches her "due date". Most preemies come home around the same time mom was due to have them so her parents are now counting down the days. Violet's mother and I are about the same exact gestation she Violet is a 35 week babe right now.She is still off any kind of vent and just has a little O2 to keep her happy. She has moved from continuous feeds to bolus feeds. This allows her to feel hungry and full, etc. They also have given her a nipple to practice sucking so soon they can try bottle feeding her.
Soon they expect she will be on room air and will be moved to a different nursery where they will just be waiting for her to eat and grow bigger before coming home.
Her latest eye exam showed nothing the matter. Brain scans show everything is stable. Her central nervous system has matured, and she no longer hates being held or bathed.
Mom still only gets to snuggle with her once a day, hopefully that will start to change when she's moved into another nursery.
