During week 31 of pregnancy, your baby's growth will begin to slow; however, he or she will still gain about 2 pounds between now and birth.
Your baby's brain is going through a period of rapid development increasing the number of connections between nerve cells.
Rather than hearing vibrations, your baby can now hear distinct sounds, like familiar voices and music.
Other fetal development that is occurring around week 31 of pregnancy includes:
- The lungs and digestive tract are nearly mature
- The baby can see in the womb
- The eyebrows and eyelashes are complete.
